Welcome to Hotel Helios Almuñecar

We invite you to come and visit our hotel and the Costa Tropical in the south of Granada/Andalucia. Nicely situated on very first line on the seaside of the San Cristobal beach, where you enjoy a year round microclimate with average temperatures of 18 degrees in winter and 25 in summer.

Almuñecar is the right place to relax, to go shopping, to enjoy the varied nightlife, and is also the perfect base for your excursions (Alhambra, Caves de Nerja, Alpujarras, Ronda ...) or to practice your favourite aquatic sport (sailing, scubadiving, aquatic ski, jetski rental close to hotel, windsurfing ...) or paragliding, golf, horseriding, trekking ...

At 400 m from the hotel you find the botanic garden and at 500 m the historic centre, the Arabic San Miguel Castle and the commercial centre.

The Helios offers 227 rooms with complete bathroom, telephone, satellite TV, airconditioning, heating, optional safe, Mediterranean decoration and the majority with terrace and seaview. 5 suites with double terrace, kingsize bed, hairdryer
and fridge.

Among our ammenities you will find a swimming pool, a separated pool for the kids, sunbeds and umbrellas, heated pool in winter (from November until end of March), a big and elegant bar with a splendid terrace overlooking sea totally renovated in 2001, hairdresser, souvenir shop, congress rooms, terrace-solarium on the 10th floor with beautiful views. Also pingpong, games room, parking place with limited places in July and August, luggage room.

Our restaurant is situated on the ground lower floor and has a capacity for 400 persons.
All meals are served buffet-style, drinks are not included. Halfboard is breakfast-dinner.

The hotel offers also a varied entertainment program with evening/night shows, especially during the weekend. Special entertainment for the kids during the afternoons (miniclub), aerobics, bowls...

Additional services can be arranged as rental of sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, car rental, (motor)bike rental, jetski in summer, excursions throughout Andalucia, rural tourism, jeepsafari, diving school, horseriding, golf “Los Moriscos” in Motril at 15 km, ski in Sierra Nevada at 90 km, tourist train...

The Hotel reception is at your service 24 hours per day, honeymooners will find a detail on their room, children travel free during certain periods, animals are not allowed, there are adapted rooms for disabled people (when available), special offers between the 1st of June and the 15th of July, small reunion rooms for business or seminars from 15 to 150 persons...
The hotel is close to the Nerja Caves (20 km), to the golf course “Los Moriscos” in Motril (15 km), to Granada, Alhambra, Sierra Nevada and Malaga (75 km).

The Costa Tropical means the coast of the province Granada and its’ name refers to the cultivation of subtropical fruits, in fact being one of the very few places along the Mediterranean coast were this is possible. Plantations of fruits as mangos, chirimoyas, papayas, litchees... can be found at less than 3 km from the hotel.
